Chronicle Books Publishes the Garden Blossoms Stationery Line by Yana Beylinson

I am incredibly proud to say that Chronicle Books released my line of stationery, Garden Blossoms, this spring. The line consists of a beautiful note card book, fold and mail stationery and a flexi journal.

Printsource

I organized my first Printsource show this August. "Printsource New York, The Premier Market for Textile and Surface Design in the USA, holds three shows a year at 7W NEW YORK, located at 7 West 34th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. As the hub for the world’s top creative talent, Printsource showcases hundreds of collections by international textile and surface design studios and agents. England, France, Italy, Spain, Australia and the U.S.A. are just some of the countries featured each season at the Show."

These are the pictures of my booth. I showcased my prints based on oil paintings and pen and ink drawings.




Recent Publications

This book, Really Good Packaging Explained, addresses the elements of effective packaging, and what makes a particular design more powerful or attention-getting than others.

I am proud to be featured in this book. Here’s what the authors write about this piece:

MK: Impulse purchasing is a rather useful marketing tool and in that regard, these colorfully smart striped canisters are definitely a strategic asset for a specialty café. It is estimated that as much as 80% of candy and sweets purchasing is unplanned;
this eye-catching type built from colored stripes and fluorescent caps ought to attract some of those impulse buyers.

RW: Sure, this logo is almost impossible to read. Sure, there are no visuals of the product inside to help drive appetite appeal and assist in flavor differentiation. But just look at the impact it generates. Just feel the spirit that brings the brand. This identity succeeds by breaking the rules. Yes, it could work only for a precious specialty product in a select retail environment, but from purely visual perspective, wow!





I am also proud to say that two of my logos been featured in the recent issue of LogoLounge - LogoLounge 5: International Identities by Leading Designers. A very respected international institution, Logo Lounge features best logo designs throughout the world in a series of publications and on their website. The work is rigorously selected by an international panel of judges, and less than 6% is chosen for a final volume.


The logos were also featured in the Logo Lounge 2009 Trends


Liquid Pixel Studio has also been featured in Big Book of Self-Promotion by Crescent Hill Books (HarperCollins Publishers). For over ten years, Crescent Hill Books has produced some of the best-selling graphic design annuals on the shelves. This book is an extraordinary resource featuring work from top designers around the globe.

Artwork and Licensing


My artwork, as my design work, is very colorful and sophisticated. Some of it is painted in oil - probably my favorite medium. But I also love pen and ink, and I create interesting combinations of hand-drawn art with vector. Most of my subjects are florals and plants, nature plays an important role for my art.

A lot of illustrations and logo and identity work I created are based on the hand drawn images.

This is a little corner of my beautiful studio in Hoboken, NJ.

Hello, and welcome to my blog. I am an artist and graphic designer living in New York. I am working on a wide variety of projects: web design, print, identity and logo design, illustration and creating art for licensing.
